Empty alt attributes for decorative images

It appears as if [alt=“Image”] is added automatically if there isn’t an alt attribute added via the media library or through Pro page builder. Is this correct?

The reason I ask is that is recommended for accessibility reasons that purely decorative images have and empty alt attribute [alt=""] and it is also recommended to never have an alt attribute contain the word “Image”.

This is actually already in our feature request list.

For the meantime, please try the suggestion from this thread:

Null alt text instead of alt="Image"

I’ve found a few other closed threads on this topic but no workable solution that meets WCAG compliance. I want to make sure that decorative images have correct null alt text (alt="") but there’s no way to do this effectively in Cornerstone that I can find.
