Email links open blank new tab as well as email window

Hi there,

On this website: https://rrcoslutheran.wpengine.com, I am getting an issue where the email links open in a new window as well as open a blank new tab. I do think it has to do with the default mail carrier being chosen by the site user, but how can I get that to fix so that doesn’t happen?

I checked the website and on my end email link is opening in a new tab only. Please see screencast. I suggest you to clear cache and test the case again.

Yes, I am getting the same thing you do, but my clients are not. They are still getting the blank new window that opens up and a separate email window. Caches have been cleared.
Can you check the About page on their staff section, all of those emails do it for sure for them. https://coslutheran.org/about/

I have no answer as to why they have this issue, but there are several different people from different computers and networks replicating their problem,

The about page email link is also working fine and is opening only in a new browser tab. Can you please get in touch with your clients and inquire about the browser and version that they are using?

Hi there,

So one client is using a Mac and Google Chrome version 75.0.3770.142. They have the problem on that computer. When they use Safari, they didn’t have the issue.
Other client (same website), is using Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer with latest versions. They have the issue. They get a pop up of “Welcome to Mail. add an account” and another box pops up with email account options.
