Email Forms Placeholder Text for Mailchimp Custom Fields

Hello there!

I’m build with X Theme, using “Email Forms” with MailChimp, where I have an form field called Birthday - a standard option from Mailchimp’s list fields.

Mailchimp uses a date format for this field, either “DD/MM” or “MM/DD”. Email Forms pulls in the field correctly, but puts “Birthday” for both the field label and the placeholder text, giving a user no indication of what format is required, and there doesn’t seem to be a way to edit either.

I’ve search the settings and forums, but can’t find a solution. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks a bunch.

Hi There,

Thanks for writing in! Could you please provide us with the URL to your references page, so that we should be able to assist you with a possible workaround for this.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately I’m working on my localhost, it’s not available online yet.

Would the attached image provide you enough to work with? It shows what it looks like 1st in admin, 2nd on the front end, and 3rd in the html output.

I can override it with jQuery, but it seems like something simple the plugin should be able to handle.

Hi There,

Currently that is not a feature provided by the plugin. Overriding it using jQuery would be the temporary solution for this.

Thanks for understanding.

Ok, thank you anyway.

I seem to have achieved a working solution using Contact Form 7 with MailChimp for WP.

Glad you were able to resolve it
