Email Forms/PHP8 Incompatibility

I just tried using the Email Forms plugin and had the same issue described here on Feb 24, 2022.

By all appearances, installing the plugin crashes not only the specific functionality to add a new form, but any functionality using post-new.php. I can also confirm this would appear to be an error with PHP8 compatibility.

When can we expect the Email Forms plugin to be updated to be compatible with PHP8?

Regretfully we do not have an ETA on the release for the plugin update. I will bump our issue tracker to follow up on this issue to our developers. For the meantime, please use PHP 7.4 when using the Email Forms plugin.
