Email Forms not using Mailchimp list detail

After spending a fair amount of time searching, I was not able to find why this does not appear to be working the way I am expecting. I have multiple MailChimp lists and I am trying to use Email Forms to capture list specific information related to each MC List. I am using X-Pro.

When I select the list:

I then use the MailChimp or Raw + shortcode element to create the page and I end up with the following which is the default “Edit Email Form” options on the specific form being edited at the time:

The Mailchimp list has many fields associated with it and none are being displayed on the page for this list.

Again, I have multiple Email Forms that I want to link to various lists on the site. Not sure if this is a limitation (i.e. all email forms can only link to one list?)

Thanks for your help

Hey @ctohelpsu,

The Email Form extension supports the default fields only and they are Name and Email. If you need more fields, you’ll need to use the Mailchimps form embed code and put it in a Raw Content element.

What do you mean all forms can link to only one list? You can create different forms each with different list.

Thanks.

I was under the impression that by identifying the MC list within each email form, the defined fields from MC would be populated into the email form. So help me with this a little more, by embedding the MC form and identifying the specific list during the email form creation, the backend manages the field updates?

My main reasoning for using the email forms was that I wanted to populate some hidden fields before submission - which was going to be my next question and how to add custom values into the fields?

Now I am having a hard time seeing the value of Email Forms over other similar products or why I wouldn’t just use the MC short link to the form directly.

Thanks for the Email Forms education, guess I just ASSUMED too much.

Hey There,

Since you want to display all your fields, you must create your form in MailChimp instead. After creating your form, please get the form embed code and insert it in a raw content element. To know more about this, please check out the documentation:

And by the way, you will have to deactivate Email Forms since it is of no use to you.

Hope this helps.
