Elementor breaks Pro block

Edit in Pro still goes to the editor and the design is still correct but now there are a bunch of Pro Theme shortcodes in Gutenberg Block editor.

Unfortunately the post excerpts are being pulled from the shortcodes and not the actual content.

I’ve deleted Elementor and reverted the edits but the shortcodes still display in Wordpress Editor.

Also, why does the Edit in Pro show underneath the Wordpress editor in Posts?

I believe I solved the issue, the code in the Wordpress Editor can be deleted without effecting the Pro Edited page.

Here is the process to fix the page:

  1. delete shortcodes, etc. in Wordpress editor
  2. Click update
  3. Click edit in Pro
    Done

Hello Ryan,

Thanks for sharing the solution for the issue and glad to hear you got it sorted.

Cheers!

Ok, it didn’t solve it. The post is deleted when I delete the shortcodes. If I edit in Pro and save then the shortcodes come back.

Hi Ryan,

Actually, that is correct and you are stating a correct queue of events. Let me give you context:

The Pro Builder is a unique tool that works with Pro theme and adds specific data to the content section of a page or post which can be rendered only by the Pro theme. Every other builder acts the same way.

You can not mix and match part of a page or post using different page builders. The elementor code is not recognized by Pro and the Pro code is not recognized by Elementor.

Whenever you add a page or post you need to decide which builder you want to use, and after that, you need to keep using that builder for that specific page or post.

If you add a page using Pro builder you should not make changes outside of the Pro Builder for that page as it will ruin the page and the builder will not be able to recognize the code.

So the general rule of thumb is that keep using whatever builder you selected when you added the page or post.

Thank you for your understanding.
