Editor not loading after Cornerstone + XTheme update: 8.1.2

As described in the title, the Cornerstone editor is not loading when you try to edit a page after the latest update. I am editing the site locally and everything worked fine right before the update. I’ve tested on both Chrome and Moz, and in incognito mode for both.

It has been stuck like this for a while now.

I did a quick test and after the update it seems that Cornerstone or Xtheme is having a conflict with a plugin called Autoptimize. It causes the plugin to not load at all… can you please help me confirm this. We are currently using autoptimize to manage the speed of the site through caching.

Had the same issue. There are two ways to solve this.

  1. You can exclude certain scripts from Autoptimize but we would need the information which.
  2. Turn off “Also optimize for logged in editors/ administrators?” at the “Misc Options” of Autoptimze.

The first worked for me till the last theme update and the second works well right now.

Do we know why this happens? is Autopmtimize trying to cache the editor also?

Because Autoptimize combines and compresses all the Javascripts it finds unless you exclude specific ones it also combines and compresses those needed by the builder and these may not like it to be combined and compressed to work properly.
