Editor and Author roles cannot edit in PRO

I’ve installed PRO, and I’ve gone to settings to also add the Editor and Author roles so that users with those roles can create, edit, manage posts and pages, etc. However, users with those roles cannot edit anything, and when I click the launcher, only Content shows up in the list to edit things. Here is a video that shows the workflow reproducing the error. Towards the end of the video, you’ll see me switch to a separate install. This is a fresh install of 4.8 and the ONLY thing that’s installed at the time of making the video is PRO - with the official child them, no plugins, nothing. Is this a known bug? The video just shows Editor, not author, although the same thing happens with author, or both.

Hi There,

The custom roles can edit the pages/posts with Pro only.

They can’t access the Pro settings.

Regards!

I’m sorry but I don’t understand what you’re saying, and that doesn’t answer my question.

I’m not using custom roles. Wordpress comes with Editor and Author roles by default.

I don’t want them to access the settings, I want Editors and Authors to be able to create Headers and Footers.

This is clearly the intention in the settings area. If other roles can’t use the editor, then why does Theme.co allow me to add them in settings “Allow other roles other than Administrator?”

Nevermind, I understand.

The answer to this question is that users / roles without with wordpress manage_options capability cannot edit these sections. Only the administrator role has that capability by default. The only way non Administrator roles can edit Headers, Footers, etc, is by using a plugin like User Role Editor and giving that role the manage_options capability.

Hello There,

We are just glad that you have figured it out a way to correct the said issue.
Thanks for letting us know!

Best Regards.
