Does the new update allow for post templates to be edited, or is that still customization that needs to happen in the backend? I’m using Pro.
Hello Susan,
Thanks for writing in!
Post and Page templates cannot be edited in the WP dashboard. You will need to create your own post/page template, add your customizations and place it in your child theme. This applies in X, Pro and even with the default WP themes.
The customizations for the page/post templates should be done manually and added in the child theme.
Hope this helps.
Okay, thanks. And posts themselves still can’t be edited in Pro either, correct? That is definitely something that would be incredibly helpful in a future update, especially for client development.
Hello Susan,
All the pages and posts that were created in Cornerstone or Pro Editor can be edited. Any existing pages or posts that were created using the Default WP editor, Gutenberg or others (WPBakery, Elementor, etc) cannot be edited in the Cornerstone or Pro Editor.
There is a difference between pages, posts, page templates and post templates. It is just the page templates and the post templates cannot be edited. You will have to do it manually.
Hope this makes sense.
