Editing blog page since WP Update 6.7 in cornerstone

Hello guys.

I designed my blog page with cornerstone and use a looper with a sql query. I set this page in the customizer of WP as the blog page.

Worked like a charm, until the bloo… update to WP 6.7.

Now I can’t edit the page - no option “edit with cornerstone” in the back end page list and the layout of the page is completely wrong in the front end… It ignores the category setting, which determines the header and footer and the layout is 666%#*$§!! up.

however if I remove the setting from the customizer and set the blog page to “choose” - basically I tell WP there is no blog page - I can edit the page in cornerstone again and it is displayed properly in the front end.

Bummer…

Details pls see secure note

EDIT: Fun fact. I’m running two other sites with almost the same setup in respect to the blog thing. The only difference I can think of right now is that the problematic site (see secure note) utilizes the WPML plugin. The language setting of the header and footer are set by category. So e.g. if the page has the category “EN” an English header is loaded.

EDIT II: I deactivated the WPML plugin - it had no effect. So WPML is not the culprit.

Hey Ondrej,

Thanks for writing in! I have inspected the mentioned URL. This is not a blog index page. It is just a normal page. You can surely edit this in Cornerstone builder. If you set this page as your Posts Page in **Settings > Reading > **
Your homepage displays, any content created in the builder will be discarded.

Only the page settings will be used for the blog index like the slug or title. I also check out the Layouts you have not created an archive layout for the blog index.

You should create a custom archive layout and assign it for your blog index and archives. I would recommend that you edit your current mentioned URL and save it as a template. You can then create a new archive layout and use the saved template so that this will be used for the blog index without the Looper Provider so that the Pagination element will work.

Hope this makes sense.

Thank you very much. I’ll follow your recommendations and will report.

Hello Ondrej,

Please let us know how it goes.

Thanks

Works. Thx a heap.
Although I prefer the looper provider. Pagination is not really an issue right now.
