Edit with Pro no longer working

Hi

I’ve just moved to https and used a plugin called Velvet Blue to update all my links. I believe this has caused a number of my pages to stop me from accessing Pro Editor as it was deemed an edit outside of Pro. Please tell me there is some way to get these pages back working in Pro Editor!

Many thanks

Tristan

Hi There,

Thanks for the details!

the home page and other pages are working fine in pro editor. I can access the content via Pro content builder.
I am not sure if you have an issue with any particular page.

Thanks

That’s very strange. It’s not working for me. If I try to go in and edit via the Content browser, all I see is the header and footer as below:

When I try to edit through the back end, it won’t allow me onto the Pro tab and throws up the following error:

I’m using Chrome v66

Thanks

It happens in other browsers too…

Hi there,

I see it and it’s your home page. The data of your home-page is corrupted which is why it displays empty. Have you done some database editing or migration before?

The home page live version is only working due to the shortcodes generated from that missing data. Do you have a saved template of your home page? You could re-import that, or restore your site to previous copy when it still working.

The builder works just okay, it’s just that the content of your home page is missing.

Thanks!

I used a tool to find and replace any http links with https. That would be the only change to the pages so there should be no reason why it can’t be edited in Pro. There has to be a way around this. The page works because all the shortcodes are fine. Is there a bool somewhere in the database which tells Pro that the page was edited outside of pro? If so, can I switch that back?

Thanks

Hi there,

What tools did you use? It can break any serialized data if not done properly. And that results to empty data in builder’s side, which happened to your home-page. I recommend restoring your database back to where it’s not yet processed by search and replace.

Thanks!

It was a plugin called Velvet Blue. It only seems to have affected the home page though… if it was the plugin which did it!

Hey There,

Please edit your homepage again using Pro theme. It is in text mode. If you switch to the Pro editor tab, it will inform you that it has been modified outside of the editor. You may ignore the message, you might be able to edit the homepage to an older version with the editor. You can just start adding up any changes in the page prior to the event that you have enabled the Velvet Blue which has caused the issue.

Hope this helps.
