Edit page with cornerstone

I am having a technical problem with btstylepictures.com.
When I try to edit the page, the plugin starts loading and never stops.
The situation is shown in the attached screenshot.

Do you have any advice on how to solve this problem?

Thank you very much,
Kind regards.

Thanks for your reply, Prakash.
I’m trying to reply to you but I don’t see the ‘secure note’ key icon as you can see in the attachment.

How can we proceed, should I email you the credentials?

Hello @Baldisserotto,

Please have a look at the screenshot given in the secure note. You can post the admin details in a secure note at the bottom of your post.

Thanks

Thank you, @prakash_s.
I have found the ‘secure note’ key and shared the administrator credentials.
Looking forward to your update about the issue.

Hello @Baldisserotto,

It seems that there might be an issue with version compatibility issue I would suggest you please update the cornerstone page builder plugin since you are using the latest version of X theme and an older version of the Cornerstone page builder plugin.

Thanks

I have always kept the Cornerstone plugin up to date, but the problem has occurred independently of this.
In fact, I have now updated Cornerstone to the latest version, but the problem persists.

Do you have any advice on how to resolve this issue?

Thank you very much,
Kind regards.

Hello Alberto,

When I edit the page, I am seeing this error in the console:

Mixed Content: The page at 'https://www.btstylepictures.com/cornerstone/edit/69' was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure script 'http://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/jquery-mousewheel/3.1.13/jquery.mousewheel.min.js'. This request has been blocked; the content must be served over HTTPS.

The issue could also be caused by a plugin conflict, amongst other things. Please check out this troubleshooting article here and follow the instructions for the following sections (where appropriate):

Testing for Plugin Conflict
Child Theme
CSS/JS Customization
Disabling Cache
Disabling CDN

I would recommend that you start the test for plugin conflict with the Yoast SEO plugin. Make sure it is up to date.

Remember to clear all your caching features (plugin, server-side, CDN, and browser’s cache) after updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

Kindly let us know how it goes.

Thank you @ruenel,

following your advice, I started testing for plugin conflicts with the Yoast SEO plugin.
Then I read the troubleshooting article and followed the instructions in the appropriate sections.

Obviously I remembered to clear all my caching functions.
Nothing changed and the problem is still on the site.

How can I resolve this issue?

Hi Alberto,

It seems that Cornerstone has been updated directly from the plugin list by clicking on the update link. I would suggest you follow the steps while updating Cornerstone to the latest version of the theme.

  1. Delete the Cornerstone
  2. Use the link in the dashboard to install the Cornerstoneautomatically. It will be on the latest version

If that does not help, please copy your live site to a staging server so we can troubleshoot freely without breaking your live site.
And give us access in the secure note including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Thanks

Hi @tristup,

I tried to follow your suggestion but I can’t delete cornerston, if I try a warning appears that says:

You cannot delete a plugin while it is enabled on the main site.

You can see this warning in the attached screenshot.

How do I proceed to delete and reinstall Cornerstone?

Hey Alberto,

Suppose you cannot delete or uninstall the Cornerstone plugin in the dashboard. In that case, you need to do it manually by using FTP or File Manager on your server, locate this folder wp-content/plugins/, and look for Cornerstone folder then delete that specific folder.

Hope that helps.

Hi @marc_a,

I tried to delete and reinstall Cornerstone, it seems that something has improved but I’m still having issues.
I created a copy of the site folder and database, so you can try downloading it and activating it on your local computers to perform some tests.
The copy can be found at the following link:

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/15Iuzxs9iUzrVgJQbR6X3w-Wk4PRM_UX1?usp=sharing

In this way, when you have identified the problem, you can tell me where to intervene, specifically.
I await your feedback.

Hello @Baldisserotto,

It is best that you create a clone of your site to a staging server. You can use a 3rd party site like Pantheon.io or CloudwayApps or the WP Staging or All in One Migration plugin. This is much easier because we will be testing the same set up. Downloading the file and sql to our local computer may not work as this was from your server and NOT have been exported by a clone/migration plugin.

Thank you.

Hi @ruenel,

I understand.
As your customer I ask you to proceed in order, 'cause the plugin has always worked until this last period.
First, try downloading the files I provided and test them to see if you encounter the same issue.
If you encounter it, please seek if there is a solution.
Otherwise, if no solution is found, we will continue with another method.

Thanks.

Hi, I had the same problem and to get it working again I deactivated my ‘autoptimize’ plugin (or, more precisely, removed JS optimisation). If the problem persists when I’ve finished making changes, I’ll opt for another plugin… I’ve been recommended WP OPTIMIZE.

Thank you @cpennetier.
Let’s see if it helps @ruenel and assistance.

Hey Alberto,

If the issue persists on your end, it would be best to troubleshoot the issue on your website. With that said, please provide us with FTP access so that we can troubleshoot it.

Thank you.

Hi @marc_a ,
Thank for your assistance.
I add the FTP access with the secure note.

I await your feedback.

Hey Alberto,

I updated X and Cornerstone to the latest version, but the issue persists after rechecking the page. With that said, I investigated the issue and found out that the Canale YouTube section is causing the issue. You need to redesign the section using V2 elements.

Hope that helps.
