E_COMPILE_ERROR was caused in line 82

Hi,

I manage our website and am self taught from the web. I’m getting this error in recovery mode. How can I fix it?

Please let me know any additional information you might need to solve this problem

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi @tristup - thank you for your reply. I think I only withdrew my reply to the post. The issue unfortunately still exists :frowning:

Hi Amy,

I have checked your screenshot, and it shows that you have not installed the X theme, which is needed to install this plugin Just for your information, the plugin named X-Shortcode is no longer supported, and you are not using it, please deactivate and delete it.

Thanks

Hi @tristup,

Thank you for explaining that. I’ve had a look and as far as I can see X is installed, but it’s running an old version.

Should I upgrade to the latest version and then deactivate and delete the x-shortcode plugin as you suggested?

Hi Amy,

I would suggest you follow the below steps while updating to the latest version of the theme.

  1. Delete the Cornerstone plugin ( if already installed )
  2. Update the X theme to the latest version on automatic updates
  3. After the X theme is updated, use the link in the dashboard to automatically install the Cornerstone. It will be on the latest version

Hope it helps.
Thanks

Great - thank you - I’ll try that and let you know how I get on

Hi Amy,

Please let us know how that works for you.

Thanks

Hi Tristup,

Just to let you know - that’s all sorted. Thanks for your help.
