Dynamic Image fallback

Hi,

I’m playing with Dynamic content and my objective was to display a user’s avatar on the navigation when they are logged in. Since there was no dedicated element, I used the “Featured Image” to display the meta avatar for the user logged in. It actually did the trick! However, in the absence of an uploaded avatar, it simply shows the alt tag and generic image icon as opposed to the generic user Icon.

So I guess what I’m trying to find out is if there is a more efficient way to handle this, if at all possible, or if there is a way to display a generic user icon that WP displays when there is no avatar.

Thank you!

I just wanted to add that initially I was using the “featured image” element but I was able to achieve the same result by using dynamic content for a navigation toggle. That’s currently where I am.

Hi @kgpthemex,

Thanks for reaching out.
If I have understood your point correctly, you are trying to show the user gravatar using the Dynamic Content tag. If that is the case, I would suggest you use the Gravatar URL of Author option of the Dynamic Content.

If that is not the case and you are trying to point out something else, please provide any screenshot marked with the issue or any video that helps us to recognize the problem. And also please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Thanks
