Duplicate site for updating

Hi

I want to redo my site with a new look based on a friend’s site…she’s happy to share all of her css and other design.

Can I replicate my friends site under my licence to then modify and replace my existing site

I guess I’ll need to get Hostgator (who host me) to setup the staging URL.

Thanks!

Mary

Hello Mary,

Thanks for asking.

Well you can absolutely do that to get started. All you need to do is have is a dev server and test domain name to validate theme before proceeding with development work.

Thanks.

Great…thank you Prasant!

I have a domain set up as a dev site with my hosting company so how do I validate theme to get started?

Thanks again. :grinning:

Hello There,

For each license, you can use it to validate the live site and the staging site simultaneously. Simply go to your account licenses (https://theme.co/apex/licenses) and insert the dev url. After that, you can use the license code to validate X.

Hope this helps.

I have this same issue - I have entered the staging URL info into my X license area (https://theme.co/apex/licenses/) - it is a subdomain, of the main site, but whenever I enter the license into WP I get this error: “Your code is valid but looks like it has already been used on another site. You can revoke and re-assign within your Themeco account”

Can you please assist?

Thank you,
Joe

Hi There,

Have you entered your subdomain url on your development license on your Apex licenses page?

Let us know.

Thanks

Yes, that was the first thing I did. Then I tried again, by removing it - and initiating it from the WP site only. Unfortunately, either way, I get the same results. I have two licenses, for two different sites. The staging option does not work for either one. I have attached a screen shot of my License Page - Thank you.

Understood - will do.

Thank you!
