Dropdown menus disappear on desktop

Hi, my dropdown menus keep disappearing when mouseover/navigating to a submenu on a desktop.

Here’s the site: https://www.caparisonguitars.com/

I can’t see options anywhere that might fix this.

Thanks,

Hi Gabriel,

Thanks for reaching out.
I have checked your website and the Menu by navigating the sub-menus and it worked perfectly fine for me. If you are still facing the issue, I would suggest you provide a video that helps us to recognize the problem. I would also request you provide the following information that might help us to replicate the problem on our end.

  1. Device Name and Version you are using
  2. Browser Name and Version you are using
  3. Operating system you are using

Thanks

Always happens for me on macOS 12.4 and Safari 15.5, although it has been happening with previous versions for a while.

I have a screen recording, but I can’t seem to upload it.

Hi Gabriel,

You can upload the video to Google Drive or Dropbox and share the link into the secure note to check.

Thanks

Hey Gabriel,

Thank you for the video. I could replicate the issue even in Windows Chrome. But, it will only happen if you move the mouse slowly. Most website users move the mouse fast and usually follow the clickable area of the menu item.

In your video, you’re moving the mouse or cursor slowly diagonally so you’re losing focus on the menu item and the sub-menu delay ends before you get to the sub-menu.

The Sub Menu actually has a brief delay to wait for the cursor to land in it’s area. The delay is calibrated balancing user experience and catering for most website users. If the delay is long, the menu will appear sticky and most users don’t want that.

If we receive a lot of complaints for this behavior, our development team might consider this as a bug. But, the delay is just right for most users.
