Does Pro support a global sidebar on the right side like X?

I’m considering “going Pro” as suggested on my license page. Before I do, I want to make sure Pro supports a global right-side sidebar that appears on all pages, where I can set the width of the sidebar, and put my own widget into the sidebar, just like I currently have with X. Can you confirm? Thanks!

Another question. If I upgrade to Pro, will this immediately break my existing site that uses X?

Here’s my situation. I am creating a new version of the site from scratch on a new server. Assuming Pro has the right sidebar feature I asked about above, I want to create the new version on the new server (not yet visible to the public) using Pro. While I do this, I want the existing site to continue to work (with X) for public visitors. Once the new site is ready, I will switch the domain to the new server and destroy the old server, so that the new site will be public.

So can I upgrade my license to Pro now so I can create my new site while keeping the old site temporarily on X?

Hello @happydogsnyc,

Thanks for writing in!

Please be advised that the Pro theme inherits all the features and functionalities of the X theme. Pro supports a global right-side sidebar that appears on all pages.

The sidebar width is the difference of the fullwidth (100%) and the Content Width in X/Pro > Theme Options > Layout and Design > Content Width. The default value of the content width is 72%, therefore the sidebar with is at 28%.

You can add widgets to your sidebar in Appearance > Widgets. To learn more about the different widgets in WordPress, please check this out:

It is best that you test the Pro theme in your staging site or in the new server. Pro will not break your X theme powered site. It will inherit all the X theme features, settings, and functionalities. Once you are done, you can make the Pro theme powered site just like what you have originally plan.

Hope this helps.
