Displaying posts in page

Hi: On my site HappySoulHungryMind.com,
I tried using “Recent Post” element and realized it will require php code editing to look and feel like the blog page.

I installed “Display Post” plugin but their look and feel is not as nice as the x-theme look-n-feel for posts in the blog page, category, archive page etc.

How can I duplicate the blog page look in my pages? I want to create a page on spirituality, have a description, and then below display all the posts related to the category spirituality.

Please help. Thanks.

Hi Ravi,

Unfortunately, you can not have that with the criteria you mentioned which is the view of the theme posts. As the posts in WordPress are different from pages and you can not embed the same archive of the posts and the look and feel of it into a page.

I can suggest two alternatives:

  • Using the Essential Grid plugin to create a list of posts from the category in question.
  • Pros: You have plenty of options to make changes and fine-tune the listing and then use the Essential Grid shortcode inside your page.
  • Cons: The view will not be the same as the theme, but it indeed has a pretty grid view anyways.
  • You can avoid adding a page and directly use the Category link for the listing. You can go to Appearance > Menus and add a menu item from the Categories section. Also, inside each category you can have a description and set a custom archive-title by going to Posts > Categories > Category in Question.

Thank you.

I have tried to use Essential Grid- I will admit it is overwhelming to figure out how to configure it even after watching tutorials.

On https://happysoulhungrymind.com/HWP/test-2/ page

I need to figure out:

  1. How to display the entire content of a post in the Essential Grid.
  2. How to add “Categories:” in front of the categories as I did using Display-Posts
  3. Make the image a link to the post (in those cases where I am not displaying the entire content)
  4. I want to ask this again. X-theme shows the posts so well in the blog, archive pages. Is there anyway possible to display the posts (same look-n-feel) inside of a regular page. Obviously, the code exists, how can we reuse the code and make it fit in a page (where we can select specific posts based on criteria)

Thanks.

Hi Ravi,

For 1 to 3
The answered to your questions are ESSENTIAL GRID SKIN EDITOR. Watch the video and please check this detailed guide too.

4.) It is possible but it will require customization. Structure are different so it needs custom work. Check the following guide

You may apply it once you have check design but as stated, better to build it using essential grid.
