Display Recent posts in Layerslider WP with thumbnail?

Hi! I’d like to display 2-3 of our latest posts on our website front page (currently a staging site) https://staging2.punishedprops.com/ We’re using X-theme, Integrity stack.

I want them to update automatically as we upload them so we don’t have to edit the front page every time. I’ve tried using the Integrity shortcode to display recent posts in the dynamic posts option in layerslider, which SORT OF works. It just displays the title and timestamp and is huge and has no image.

Our current website has something similar using Divi http://punishedprops.com/

Any help would be great! I’d like to put the images above the “latest videos” buttom. If I can do a little slider or something with parallax that would be cool, I just can’t quite figure it out.

Hey Bill,

The setup you’ve described is hard to pull-off if not impossible.

I’d recommend that you use Slider Revolution instead as it has easy to setup Post Based Sliders. See https://www.themepunch.com/slider-revolution/post-based-sliders/

In case you don’t know yet, Slider Revolution is one of our bundled plugins so you can install it in WP Admin Menu > X > Validation.

Your current front page is just standard page, it should be okay and will work if you add that on your front page.

We’re using a layerslider WP slideshow for the full front page, that’s why I ask. I wouldn’t want to have a Slider Revolution above or below the layerslider, and I imagine there isn’t a way to combine the two.

Hey Bill,

Regretfully, there is no way to combine LayerSlider and Slider Revolution. You maybe can add a Slider Revolution shortcode in LayerSlider but that is not recommended and there’s no guarantee that there would be no conflict between the scripts and effects of the 2 sliders.

I’d recommend that you try replicating your LayerSlider build with Slider Revolution. You can utilize the Global Layers as static layers while having a posts slide in the middle.
