Display Modal Pop-up on Archive Pages using Convert Plus

Hello,

We are trying to display a pop-up on the News archive page / the main blog page, but it’s now showing up.

Here’s our config:

The modal is displaying on other pages, and an archive page for a sub-category but not the main /news blog page.

Our site is https://csdev.space

Hi @theotcspace,

Thanks for reaching out.

Could you try assigning the posts page, instead of the actual name of the blog? Please check this screenshot

When you assign a page as a blog page, it becomes a special page and not the page you created anymore. WordPress only uses the page URL as the new blog URL.

Thanks!

Thanks!

Hi

We already had the option selected:

jLM7kOs

In addition we even tried using a WP hook to add the shortcode to the page. The shortcode renders some HTML but there is no pop up.

Many Thanks

Hey @theotcspace,

Maybe it is conflicting with the other terms. Please try removing all terms except Blog / Posts Page .

Only if that doesn’t help, please give us the following information in a Secure Note.

  • WordPress Login URL
  • Admin level username and password

You can find the Secure Note button at the bottom of your posts.

Thanks.

Hi

It looks like the option to save Blog / Posts Page is not working correctly.

So we get the “Settings Saved” overlay: https://i.imgur.com/1GgEjYm.png

But when the page is reloaded the option is gone: https://i.imgur.com/2XxxKa8.png

Many Thanks

Hello @theotcspace,

The given credentials is not working for us. Can you please double check it so that we can log in and investigate your issue?

Thanks.

Hi

Please try again with the attached credentials:

Hi @theotcspace,

We have seen some text POPUP LOAD just end of the News Page which set as the blog page.
We found that you are using the Child Theme, and a modified child theme is composed of custom codes.
Please note that we don’t troubleshoot any custom codes and don’t offer any support to the modified child theme.

Please check if the issue is coming from your child theme by following this article: https://theme.co/docs/common-issues#child-theme
Also, check a few common issues with the child theme :

PLEASE CHECK CHILD THEME IS CREATED PROPERLY
TESTING FOR PLUGIN CONFLICT
PHP ERRORS ON CHILD THEME
VERSION COMPATIBILITY

Apart from the above solutions, you can also check this by activating the Parent Theme and do the same settings in the Convert Plus.

Hope this will help.

Thanks

Hi

The Child Theme and custom code was there for troubleshooting purposes, was trying to insert the shortcode onto that page as an alternative means to get the pop up to show.

We reverted back to using the parent theme and still experiencing the same issue.

The problem is the option to target Blog / Posts Page is not saving correctly. When ever we refresh the page, the option is unset again.

Please refer to our previous response:

Looks like the core problem at the moment is that the option isn’t saving.

Hello @theotcspace,

I can confirm that the Blog/Posts Page option is not being saved. I have managed to find out that when you load Convertplus Modal Popup editor, there is an Error 403 in the console. See the secure note.

The admin-ajax.php is a global file used by Wordpress and it works pretty well on other parts of the site. It just that there is a certain request that contains unwanted content sent through ajax and it’s blocked by your hosting provider. This blocking is not coding related so it can’t be fixed by any code and you can’t bypass it once it’s blocked by your host security. The best way is contacting your hosting provider or someone who’s familiar with your hosting environment, which who could retrieve the details of what is being blocked.

Kindly let us know how it goes.

Hi

Had the website check every aspect of the admin, they are not seeing this getting blocked anywhere and declare that there is no issue.

I have checked aswell and can’t find any issue.

Many Thanks

Hello @theotcspace,

Please provide us your FTP details in a secure note so that we can investigate this issue further. We need to find what is causing the error 403 when editing in Convertplus.

Thank you in advance.

Attached are the SFTP details

Hi @theotcspace,

I can confirm this is a bug, and it seems a bug to Convert Plus itself as the issue still happening even if I switch to default WordPress Theme (2019). I’ve submitted this to our issue tracker so the developers will be made aware of it and communicate it with the Convert Plus team.

For now, there is nothing we can do but to wait.

Thank you for your patience.

Hi

Got an update for this?

Hi @theotcspace,

Regretfully, there is no update available for this right now.
Please stay tuned for the succeeding theme versions as the fix will be included in one of them.

Thanks
