Hello!
On the homepage of my Website I would like to display an excerpt from the most recent post. This feature doesn’t seem to be available through the “Classic Recent Post” element.
How can I go about displaying an excerpt of the most recent post?

The classic recent posts element does not have the capability to display an excerpt. It maybe possible to display the excerpts with custom development by which is beyond the scope of our support. You may need to check out previous threads instead:
By the way, what you are trying to accomplish requires a template customization, we would highly to suggest that you use a child theme. This allows you to make code changes that won’t be overwritten when an X update is released. After your child theme is setup, please review how we recommend making template changes in Customization Best Practices.
