Different sidebars showing up

I created a new sidebar, that I want to show up in all the Woocommerce pages, The main landing looks good (https://www.cutflower.com/catalog/) and when you get into the category pages it is all fine (https://www.cutflower.com/product-category/g3/) HOWEVER when I click on a certain tagged item (such as here: https://www.cutflower.com/product-tag/urn/) then it starts showing the “other” sidebar again.

I setup my second sidebar with a checkmark in the PRODUCTS box: https://www.screencast.com/t/SUpARPsi9Mn

But also if I go into a product DETAIL page, I cannot get the sidebar to show. https://www.cutflower.com/product/bowl-bubble-12-plain-3154clr/

I must be missing something…can you point me into the right direction please?

Hi @rstreng,

Thank you for writing in, please also check the appropriate taxonomies for your custom sidebar so it will also show on the tag page (tag archive).

By default, the Product detailed pages (single product pages) does not have a sidebar by design, if you want it to have a sidebar, please follow the solution provided here.

OK I see. So I need to go in and put a checkmark and EVERY tag/category item that I have used? That seems like a lot of work.
One last question about that: let’s say I have a tag called “flower vase” in my Products, but I also have used that same tag for a POST, how does “X” differentiate between a POST and a PRODUCT tag? Because I would not want my new Woocommerce sidebar layout to show up for a News post that happens to have the same tag. Makes sense?

Hi @rstreng,

Yes, that is right. As for the tags, the post type and product types do not share the same tag so what you have selected for the product tag will only be the products that are assigned to that tag.

one last question if you don’t mind: I am happy with the answer you gave, but how do I know whether a certain taxonomy came from the News posts, versus from the Product tags? There is no way to look at the list of tags and determine it that way, is there? Just trying to fully grasp everything, thank you

You can check the taxonomy by comparing it to the Products > Categories, Products > Tags, Posts > Categories and Posts > Tags. At the moment, there is no way to search at the list of tags. We’ve added this as a feature request so it can be taken into consideration for future development.
