Design Cloud elements previously installed before V5 are no longer responsive. How do I fix?

Thank you! It looks like the old responsive data was present, but it didn’t get migrated. I was able to get it repaired on that page.
Was this site ever running one of the beta versions of this cycle? If so, it’s possible that if the page was saved on one of those releases that it locked in a base breakpoint for the element without properly retrieving the old layout values. If that’s true, I don’t think we have anything to worry about here and things should be fine now that it’s manually fixed. Otherwise I might need to to some more investigating. Let me know when you can, thanks!
Yes, we’ve been running the betas.
I see the testimonials section has been fixed but not the coloured boxes. Would you mind telling me how you fixed it as I may need to do this with other elements.
Ok gotcha, then that’s probably what’s going on. So This is rather involved, and uses some of our developer tooling. Be careful, since it’s easy to break your page doing this. It might just be better to quickly update the Row and Grid layouts by hand.
That said, here’s a runthrough of the process I would take:
- Enable Dev Toolkit from Preferences, then open the Dev Toolkit
- Inspect the broken element and copy remember the
_id - Switch to the State tab of Dev Toolkit and find the element by searching for it’s
_id(e.g. cs123 there will probably be several that say"_parent": "cs123"but you want the one that says"_id": "cs123", - remove the line that says
"_bp_base": "4_4",. I think for yours the numbers might be"3_4"since you changed your base. It just matters that the line is removed. - Click the save button on the dev toolkit.
- Save the page with the normal builder save button.
With the _bp_base key removed, the migrations will run again the next time the page loads and they’ll pull through the last known value from the previous version of Cornerstone/Pro. Hopefully this helps!
