just having a flick through design cloud for the first timed and installed a what I thought was a page template I could use but it has affected my whole site. I have no idea how to turn it off to revert back. Any ideas?

Perhaps what you imported is a demo in which tag as site instead of just template. Unfortunately, there is no theme and builder feature that restore the entire site, I recommend contacting your hosting provider an request a restoration to the date when the demo is still not imported.
