Deleting and starting over with X pro

Hi,

I bought X pro and have found it very difficult. I worked for hours on a site and couldn’t get it to do what I wanted it to do so I finally bought a video class on it from Udemy and am about to start it.
However I would like to start with a fresh and empty shell without all my mistakes in it so I can follow along with the class step-by-step.

So Question #1:
How do I delete it and start over? Preferably without having to lose wordpress and my media files in the process.
I will want to do this twice: once to have it fresh for the course and then again when I go to build my website.

Question #2:
Also - is it possible to build multiple websites within the same domain? I would like to build multiple for practice and learning purposes - although I will only put one up live for the world to see.
How would I do that if so?

Hey Larry,

For you 1st question, it depends on what mistakes you have made.

  • If you have made Theme Options changes, you can restore the default Theme Options by going to WordPress Admin Menu > Pro > Validation then under Theme Options Manager, click the Reset button.

  • If you want to delete all your pages, go to Pages and select all your pages.

Then, under Bulk Actions, select Move to Trash.

Your trashed pages will then be available under the Trash status and you can Empty your trash if you wish to.

The process is the same for all post types.

You might want to also check a reset plugin like this one: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-reset/. Just browse the features to see if it suites what you need.

For the 2nd question, I’d recommend that you setup a test site locally or online. Please see https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-create-staging-environment-for-a-wordpress-site/. This will save you from having to deal with the technicalities of a multisite setup.

For more details about WordPress Multisite, please see https://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network. I’d recommend that you check it out first before deciding to convert.

Hope that info helps.
