Deleted pages still being shown?

I couldn’t change the permalink on my page to /seo and it kept reverting to /seo-2. Turns out there was a page that was published that was given that permalink. I deleted the page permanently but I still cannot change the permalink to /seo.

Also the page still keeps coming up which shouldn’t be happening, even when it’s been deleted permanently. This is the page that should be deleted but it’s still showing

EDIT: Just created a new page “Hosting” and it’s only letting me rename to https://dwanedigital.co.uk/hosting-2/ but for some reason this page exists? https://dwanedigital.co.uk/hosting which I didn’t create?

Some help would be great

Hey There,

Thanks for writing in! Before changing the permalink and page slug of your page, please go to Pages > Trash tab.

You must empty your trash and make sure that the old SEO page is gone. Then afterwards, you can proceed to rename the permalinks and the page slugs.

I had already deleted the trash before writing, and it’s still not working

So i’m really confused.

Hey There,

You have uploaded SEO.jpg and Hosting.jpg. Please go to the Media > Gallery and delete these images.

Hi Rue

I didn’t realise that when uploading an image it creates an attachment page as well. I’ll rename the images and then change my permalinks.

Is there a way of disabling this as i’m guessing it will have an affect on the SEO rankings?

Hi,

That is wordpress standard functionality and not by the theme.

You can disable it using Yoast SEO Plugin.
