Default CS content when creating a WP page

Hi

Is it technically possible to create some default CS content simply by creating a WP page? The base idea is too make a hook, so when creating a WP page, then we adjust the content of the editor to match some CS shortcodes. We’ve tried, but can’t make it work and the page is not editable from CS afterwards.

Hi There,

The feature you are looking for is not available in the theme due to certain reason. The user may wants to use WP core editor or any other page-builder for the content. If the Cornerstone element available by default it may cause issue for them.
Also the feature needs custom development which is beyond our theme support scope.

Thanks for the answer. I’m very well aware of PROs and CONs. But for a specific client we need to do this, so I was asking for help - why our php-coded insert of CS shortcodes doesn’t work. Do we need to - codewise - set some sort of “flag” for any page in order to be considered as CS editable?

Hi there,

As mentioned by my colleague it is not possible to add the shortcodes of the Cornerstone to the editor by code.

It is not only a matter of adding shortcodes. There is too many complicated stuff going on behind the scenes and there are multiple options saved in the meta table of the database.

Also, the V2 elements do not have shortcode representation at all and are referenced by IDs of the database.

The customization you want to do is basically recreating the functionalities that the Cornerstone does to save which we do not recommend and we discourage to do so.
