Deep Linking to Slide in Revolution Slider Not Working

I have followed the simple directions here: https://www.sliderrevolution.com/faq/deeplinking-slides/ to deep link 2 site menu items to 2 slides, but it is not working. The link appears correct in my browser address bar and in the link text preview at the bottom-left of my screen in Chrome. Any ideas would be helpful.

I also cannot get the slides transitions to slide in and out rather than fade. Those controls do not seem to work either.

Thanks

Hi @comstarsupport,

Thank you for writing in, please do the following troubleshooting first.

  • Ensure that you are fully up to date. WordPress, Theme, and Cornerstone (Version Compatibility)

  • Clear all the site caches (plugin, server-side, CDN, and browser’s cache) so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors. While you’re at it, please deactivate this caching feature while we tackle this issue.

  • Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

Cheers!

Everything is up to date, all caches are cleared, and all plugins except Revo Slider are disabled and there is no change in behavior. Thanks

Hi @comstarsupport,

I have investigated your website and found the Deep Link is working fine, and the Slides are shown as per the URL. But while clicking into the Menu it is not scrolling down to that section where the Slider is displayed and when you slide down to the section the next slides automatically come and that makes the problem.
I went to that section and refreshed the page with the # links and it immediately reflect into the slides as shown in the given screenshots.

Hope it helps.
Thanks

Actually, the links to the slides at the top of the section are in the global layer and are just Jump to Slide links.

I need the site menu items About Us and Financial Requirements to both scroll down the page and display the slide where the deep link is configured.

Thanks

Hi @comstarsupport,

Unfortunately, you can only have one deep-link at the same time, if you need to scroll down to “WHY MY FAVORITE MUFFIN” section, you need to assign ID on that section and use that ID to link on the “About Us & Financial Requirements” menu items, unfortunately, it will not jump link to its respective slide, but you have the slide-links on the global layer.

Thanks,

I’m able to do the scroll down with a simple anchor link. I need to have the menu links also activate the specific slide it relates to. I’ll have to keep looking for a way.

I’m replacing an outdated plugin that was able to do that.

Can you also help me to understand why I can’t change the slide transitions? I can’t seem to change it from the default “fade” to “slide in, slide out”

Thanks

Hi @comstarsupport,

Are you referring to the same slider? It is already sliding in, sliding out which is what is set on the slides animation.

Please clarify,
Thanks,

I was able to animate each layer of my slides, but I had wanted to simply make the entire slide “slide in, slide out”. I realized I could have grouped the items, but they were already in place on the page for all devices. I didn’t want to reposition everything and could not see how to group items that are already in position.

Hey @comstarsupport,

You need to enable the Slide In / Slide Out Slide Transition like Friech showed you.

Upon checking your About Us slide, there’s no transition. I enabled it but it’s hard to tell if it’s working as your layers are already sliding. Disable the layer animations so we could see if the transition works or not.

Thanks.

There is a second page with another slider where we have not yet changed the default slide transition: /cafe-page.

I have tried to configure it as directed. Please check. Thanks.

On the /cafe-page slider there is suddenly a delay before it paints slide #2 content. Can you please advise how to get rid of the delay?

Hey @comstarsupport ,

The delay is because of the Timing of the Animation.

Regarding the Slider Animation, I just knew that it was only for the background. If you have a background image, that is what will Slide In and Out.

According to Slider Revolution documentation, an animation starts from the layers so regretfully, you really need to set all layer animations. You can learn this from here https://www.sliderrevolution.com/manual/animation-starts-with-layers/

We’re sorry for the confusion.

Both slides’ animation timing is set to No Pause and 20ms duration, but the delay on the 2nd slide is still there.

Thanks for clarifying the bg vs. layer transition parameters.

Hey @comstarsupport,

Are you referring to the layer fade animation? That’s the only delay I see now.

Try setting the Layer Animation Duration to 0.

When I use the arrows to advance to the 2nd slide it performs as intended, but when it runs automatically, the delay appears. I tried 0 duration, but no luck. Also, there should be no fade, only slide in and out (which is what I see).

Hi @comstarsupport,

That is not the delay, that is the layer’s timeline. Your slide stays at 7 seconds, while the layers inside it exit out at 6 seconds.

You can click the arrow correspond to each layer and set it to wait.

Cheers,

Thanks again! You folks are a great help!

You are most welcome.
