Customizer Freezing

Hi, I’m having troubles with Customizer—it keeps freezing and I get the “Aw, snap” message in Chrome. Tried other browsers and same basic thing. Made sure PHP execution time is high and memory limit as well—first 512M and now 1000M. Same problem. Sometimes it loads and then freezes when you make a change, sometimes it doesn’t load at all. Right now Customizer is not loading at all. I have 10 licenses for this product and I have actually been having a similar issue, to different extents, on all of them—on Bluehost and Siteground.

Have tried deactivating all plugins and re-installing cornerstone…no change.

Site in question at the moment is openpathinsights.com

Hi There,

Thank you for writing in, I did check your Theme Options/Customizer, change few things (but did not saved), and waited for a couple of minutes, its fine it did not freeze out, please clarify how we can replicate the issue.

Try viewing the Theme Options/Customizer in an incognito/private mode of your browser and see if it still freeze out, if not then the issue is either your browser’s cache or one of your browser’s add-ons.

Cheers!

Ok, I did try it in incognito and it worked. It’s odd that it did not work after I cleared my browser cache and tried it on several browsers. I’ll try this workaround the next time this happens, but I’m curious what is being stored in the cache to make this happen so often with X?

Thanks for your help.

Hi There,

It could be a temporary caching issue that you were experienced. Next time, load the browser inspector and go to the Network tab and tick Disable cache and try loading the page again.

Thanks!

Thanks, I actually did that before I submitted the support request and it did not work. So I’m not sure why going to an incognito window did work.

Hi There,

Maybe its not the browser’s cache, but a browser’s add-ons? Please deactivate all your browser’s add-ons and test again in normal mode, if the freezing did not happen then you know its one of your add-on, do a test for add-on conflict (like a plugin test conflict) to see which of the add-on is causing the issue.

Thanks,
