I am working on transferring an older website over to the X-Theme, while keeping the design as close as possible to the old website. The original website has a number of images on the sidebar of their blog page, but I can’t find a way to edit the blog page so I can add in custom elements. Is this possible?

Thanks for reaching out.
That area is a sidebar, and widgets are added. Please go to Theme Options > Layout and Design > Content Layout and change it to Content Left, Sidebar Right. And in case your blog is using full-width, then make sure it’s set to Global Content Layout in Theme Options > Blog > Layout
Once you set this, you can go to Admin > Appearance > Widgets and add your widgets to the main sidebar.

About the widgets, it’s up to you what to add. Example, you can add text widget to add your ads.
