Hi @artisted,
Thanks for reaching out.
The issue could happen due to a few different reasons are listed below.
Permalink settings should be /%postname%/, but it is seen that the .htaccess file is not writable. Please make sure that you have added this code to the file. If not please make this file editable and reset the link once again.
A folder named Pro exists in the root folder of the WordPress installation.
Any 3rd party plugin confliction, and that can be checked by deactivating the plugins one by one. Especially those are not deactivated yet.
If none of these above helps, please copy your live site to a staging server so we could troubleshoot freely without breaking your live site.
And give us access in the secure note including:
– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password
To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.
Thanks
Hi,
the permalinks was already set at /%postname%/ and the .htaccess file has already that code. Anyway I changed permission from 622 to 666 is enough?
I cannot see any Pro folder, what is wrong?
I already tested it deactivating all the plugins
You can test with the live site, you already have details to access, no problem, the only plugin now active is the “Coming Soon” one
Hi @artisted,
It’s found that the WordPress URL and the Site URL is different, one has the www and another one was not.
By going ahead I have added www to the WordPress URL and the problem gets resolved.
Still, I would recommend you to update the theme to the latest version i.e 3.2.3 to avoid any further issues.
Thanks
Hi tristup,
first of all, thank you!
I did not updated to the last version because the 3.1.2 is labeled as the stable version, but I will now.
I had noticed the difference between the two urls and I was trying to change the second by removing the www but wp put it back on me.
Did you notice that every time you try to save your changes, wp asks you to login again?
Thanks again.
Hello @artisted,
You are most welcome. And yes, you will always experience that WordPress will ask you to log in again every time the Site URL or the WordPress Address URL is updated. It is the default behavior of WordPress.
Cheers.
