Customize -> Global CSS have no effect

I tried to change the footer widget background color with the following css

footer.x-colophon.top {
background-color: #2C3E50;
color: #2C3E50;
}
but it have no effect. The CSS should be correct. Can you please advise where might be wrong?

Try using the following:

.x-colophon.top {
    background-color: #2C3E50 !important;
    color: #2C3E50 !important;
}

Hi there @ennis214,

I’ve just logged in and fixed it. You had some syntax errors in your custom CSS, a missing semicolon and a bracket on other parts of your CSS.

Now those are added the code is working correctly.
