Customising the Post Page - wp-single.php

I would like to change the styling of the post page, the layout and meta tags displayed. For example, I already removed the post section, and instead of hiding the HUGE image that appears at the top of the post, I would like to remove it from php.

So, here is the code which outputs the post in wp-single.php

$fullwidth = get_post_meta( get_the_ID(), '_x_post_layout', true );

?>

<?php get_header(); ?>

  <div class="x-container max width offset">
    <div class="<?php x_main_content_class(); ?>" role="main">

      <?php while ( have_posts() ) : the_post(); ?>
        <?php x_get_view( 'integrity', 'content', get_post_format() ); ?>
        <?php x_get_view( 'global', '_comments-template' ); ?>
      <?php endwhile; ?>

    </div>

I need to remove the image, remove LINKS from tags, remove LINKS to author page and other meta tags.

How can this be achieved? I need to edit <?php x_get_view( 'integrity', 'content', get_post_format() ); ?> , but where is this function?

Hi There,

Please create this file in your child theme directory /x-child/framework/views/integrity/content.php with the following code:

<?php

// =============================================================================
// VIEWS/INTEGRITY/CONTENT.PHP
// -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
// Standard post output for Integrity.
// =============================================================================

?>

<article id="post-<?php the_ID(); ?>" <?php post_class(); ?>>
  <div class="entry-wrap">
    <?php x_get_view( 'integrity', '_content', 'post-header' ); ?>
    <?php x_get_view( 'global', '_content' ); ?>
  </div>
  <?php x_get_view( 'integrity', '_content', 'post-footer' ); ?>
</article>

After adding the following code under Customizer > Custom > Global Javascript:

jQuery('.p-meta>span a').contents().unwrap();

Let us know how it goes!

This will remove the links, but not the content itself. I also would like to change the html structure of this band. It currently look like:

Instead, I would like to remove comments, change the structure by removing “/”, move the tags down and other little changes. I’m assuming this is controlled by:

<?php x_get_view( 'integrity', '_content', 'post-header' );

The file (in X, not x-child) _content_post-header.php has the <?php x_integrity_entry_meta(); ?> which outputs the metas, but I can’t find it in functions.php

Hi,

It’s located in wp-content/themes/x/framework/functions/integrity.php

You may add the code below in your child theme’s functions.php file and edit as you wish.

function x_integrity_entry_meta() {

    //
    // Author.
    //

    $author = sprintf( '<span><i class="x-icon-pencil" data-x-icon="&#xf040;"></i> %s</span>',
      get_the_author()
    );

    //
    // Date.
    //

    $date = sprintf( '<span><time class="entry-date" datetime="%1$s"><i class="x-icon-calendar" data-x-icon="&#xf073;"></i> %2$s</time></span>',
      esc_attr( get_the_date( 'c' ) ),
      esc_html( get_the_date() )
    );

    //
    // Categories.
    //

    if ( get_post_type() == 'x-portfolio' ) {
      if ( has_term( '', 'portfolio-category', NULL ) ) {
        $categories        = get_the_terms( get_the_ID(), 'portfolio-category' );
        $separator         = ', ';
        $categories_output = '';
        foreach ( $categories as $category ) {
          $categories_output .= '<a href="'
                              . get_term_link( $category->slug, 'portfolio-category' )
                              . '" title="'
                              . esc_attr( sprintf( __( "View all posts in: &ldquo;%s&rdquo;", '__x__' ), $category->name ) )
                              . '"><i class="x-icon-bookmark" data-x-icon="&#xf02e;"></i> '
                              . $category->name
                              . '</a>'
                              . $separator;
        }

        $categories_list = sprintf( '<span>%s</span>',
          trim( $categories_output, $separator )
        );
      } else {
        $categories_list = '';
      }
    } else {
      $categories        = get_the_category();
      $separator         = ', ';
      $categories_output = '';
      foreach ( $categories as $category ) {
        $categories_output .= '<a href="'
                            . get_category_link( $category->term_id )
                            . '" title="'
                            . esc_attr( sprintf( __( "View all posts in: &ldquo;%s&rdquo;", '__x__' ), $category->name ) )
                            . '"><i class="x-icon-bookmark" data-x-icon="&#xf02e;"></i> '
                            . $category->name
                            . '</a>'
                            . $separator;
      }

      $categories_list = sprintf( '<span>%s</span>',
        trim( $categories_output, $separator )
      );
    }

    //
    // Comments link.
    //

    if ( comments_open() ) {

      $title  = apply_filters( 'x_entry_meta_comments_title', get_the_title() );
      $link   = apply_filters( 'x_entry_meta_comments_link', get_comments_link() );
      $number = apply_filters( 'x_entry_meta_comments_number', get_comments_number() );

	  $text = ( 0 === $number ) ? 'Leave a Comment' : sprintf( _n( '%s Comment', '%s Comments', $number, '__x__' ), $number );

$comments = sprintf( '<span><a href="%1$s" title="%2$s" class="meta-comments"><i class="x-icon-comments" data-x-icon="&#xf086;"></i> %3$s</a></span>',
        esc_url( $link ),
        esc_attr( sprintf( __( 'Leave a comment on: &ldquo;%s&rdquo;', '__x__' ), $title ) ),
        $text
      );

    } else {

      $comments = '';

    }

    //
    // Output.
    //

    if ( x_does_not_need_entry_meta() ) {
      return;
    } else {
      printf( '<p class="p-meta">%1$s%2$s%3$s%4$s</p>',
        $author,
        $date,
        $categories_list,
        $comments
      );
    }

  }

Hope that helps.
