Custom sidebars disappeared from posts, still in admin area

Hi all,

In the last days my custom sidebars (for each of my 4 categories) on my blog website stopped showing. All my posts have the main sidebar again. I can still see them in the admin area.
Older forum posts talk about updates not being compatible, but I did update both X and Cornerstone to the newest .1 versions. Cleared browser cache, not using any caching plugins.

In the changelog I did find this: " Bugfix: Fix resetting issue of assigned sidebar issue upon language switching." and I wonder if that could have anything to do with it.

When I go to the sidebars in appearance, I don’t get a list of all posts and all taxonomies anymore, in that box I only see my 2 languages (not clickable). I still see a list in the third box post types.

Anyone else having this issue? Will it be fixed eventually or is it something on my end?

Hi Ruenel, I added a secure note to the original post
Thanks for helping! I don’t know exactly when the problem started. I had posted 5 days before the last post and the sidebars were fine then (feb 29). I can’t remember if I have checked any other posts since. Until my last post on March 5. As far as I can remember, I only have updated the theme and cornerstone, no plugins. I have added a header and footer plugin to add adsense code, but disabling the plugin (just approved and still have to add the ads) didn’t make a difference.

Hello Marlies,

I have logged in and I can see the issue.

This could be a conflict between the latest release and the Polylang plugin. I’ve submitted this to our issue tracker so the developers will be made aware of it.

Please bear with us.

Thanks so much! I had searched for possible other complaints about this, but I couldn’t find anything on either side (x/pro or polylang) so far.

It’s thankfully not a huge deal for me, I have copied the most important info from each custom sidebar into the main sidebar that does show, that’ll work for a while. I had written a description/article for each category, which was my reason for using custom sidebars. As a temp solution until the Layout builder comes, with which I can hopefully make a nice page out of each category archive page  I know I could add code for a description in the theme files for the archive pages, but I didn’t have to create a child page so far, so I’ll just wait for the builder. Any ETA?

Hey Marlies,

Regretfully, we do not have an ETA. We post bug fixes in our Changelog though so please kindly check the posted bug fixes when an update is released.

Thanks.

I meant for the layout builder?
Thanks for your efforts guys! xo

Hi Marlies,

Yes, however, this has been noted to our issue tracker so that our developers will be aware of this.

Thank you for understanding.
