Custom Meta data format on Essential Grid

Hello,
I created, using Advanced Custom Fields, one field to insert a date of an event (jQuery date selection) in my posts.
The format of return and visualization is d/m/Y. Everything works fine.
Then i configured an Essential Grid skin to show this custom meta data, but the information returned the date only in numbers.
For example: 23/4/2018 is showned as 20180423
You can see this result in:

Am i missing something? Can i reformat this custom data on Essential Grid?

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! The grid date settings maybe picking up the one you have set in the general settings. Please go to Settings > General > Date Format.

If you already have set it, could you please provide us access to your site so that we can check it?

I’ve allready set the date format, but i don’t think that’s the problem.

Hi there,

The essential grid has no idea what type of data it’s displaying, it’s displayed as given by the system especially that custom meta is usually a single line of data (text). You will need some implementation similar to this https://www.themepunch.com/faq/create-custom-shortcode-essential-grid/, but instead of custom shortcode, you can add ACF shortcode like this [acf field="{$field_name}"]

But I’m not really sure since the date formatting is done through jQuery, hence, it still not formatted in database.

I manage to solve the problem.
For future reference here’s how i did:

• First changed a little the function that was on the link from themepunch that you sent (to get the post id and the field that i wanted - datahoraevento):

function tp_custom_shortcode( $atts ) {
$p = shortcode_atts( array(
‘id’ => 0
), $atts );

// get raw date - vai buscar a data do evento ao Custom Field data (data do evento)
$datahoraevento = get_field(‘data_hora_evento’, $p[‘id’], false);

// data formatada with localization
$datahoraeventoformatada = date_i18n(“l, d M Y, H:i”, strtotime($datahoraevento));

// return the date formated as i need
return $datahoraeventoformatada;

}

add_shortcode( ‘custom_time_format’, ‘tp_custom_shortcode’ );

• Then i add the Text/HTML in the Essential Grid, calling the custom shortcode:

  [custom_time_format id=%post_id%]

  Hope this helps other people (don’t know if it’s was clear enough )
