Custom homepage design

Hello,

I’m currently using Ethos (child theme) for my website (https://www.kevinmaschke.com), and am thinking of re-designing it. One thing I’d like to be able to do is to add content before and/or after the current.

For example, be able to add custom content before or after to the marked content:

I’d also want to know if there’s any way of adding a post list like the one from the Ethos homepage in cornerstone, so I could create a custom page in Cornerstone and insert the element there.

It’s kinda difficult to explain what I want to achieve, but I don’t see a way of achieving a post list like this using The Grid or Essential Grid. Which plugins would you recommend for customized post lists? Any suggestion is welcome! Oh, and I use WPML and it needs to be able to work with that :sweat:

Thanks for writing in! Be advised that once you have assigned a normal page as your Posts Page or the blog index, and any contents will be discarded and the post items will be generated dynamically by WordPress. You cannot add custom content in the blog index or the Posts Page. You may need to create a static homepage if you want to customize your home page. Simply create a new page and edit in Cornerstone. Add your content and design. You can make use of the Classis Recent Posts element if you want to display post items. Moreover, the Essential Grid and The Grid plugin may also help you in displaying post items on your homepage.

Thank you for your response and sorry for not coming back to you earlier. I’ve been looking at Essential Grid and The Grid and can’t seem to find a way to display posts the way I’d like it.

One one side, I’d like to be able to list posts as a simple list, similar to the recent posts panel, but specifying the category (the idea would be to show multiple lists on the homepage, divided by categories).
On the other side, I would love to be able to have my homepage show the latests posts using a design like the following:

Which would be the best way to achieve this?

Hello @Lunatic_Zorr,

Yes, you can still achieve the look that you want using the Essential Grid or TheGrid plugin. All you have to do is to create your own grid skin so that it will look like what you have imagined. Kindly check these document articles:
