Custom Data Handling Missing in Essential Grid

I am trying to link each cell of a grid to a unique external link. I watched a video and read the theme punch instructions that it’s necessary to add some custom meta data. But the feature Custom Data Handling feature is missing from my essential grid. Is this not possible? What am I missing? Please help. Thank you.

Please note Custom Metadata works with only post and post grid. Please have a look at the doc to learn more about how to set the custom metadata works.
