CSS hidden after Cornerstone update

Hey guys!

I was using the old version of Cornerstone on my website and had a lot of CSS added on it.

After updating to the new version, the CSS is still added on the website, but it is not visible on Cornerstone anymore, so I can’t edit it.

Here are the screenshots:

No CSS showing on Cornerstone editor:

Is there a way to get it back so I can edit again?

Thanks!

And the CSS showed when inspecting the page:

Hi There,

Could you please share us with your admin account so we can take a closer look?

Thanks.

hey!

sorry about my delay

below are the credentials to login

thanks!

Hey There,

If you edit the home page, all the custom CSS is still there.

Regards!

Hi @thai

On the home page, only the CSS for the home page is there. It is a very little code.

The CSS that is missing is the site wide CSS, that was inserted on the Customizer before the update (as attached on the first post).

The CSS on Cornerstone editor for the entire site is empty, but the old CSS from Cornerstone on Customizer is still showing on the page.

Hi There,

There are manu plugins and also your theme is not up to date.

Please update your theme and plugins and check again.

Thank you

hi Joao, when I opened the ticket the theme was up to date. so, there’s no influence on this.

but I’ll update anyway.

I checked your home page and a couple of other pages and your CSS is there in Cornerstone.

Is it possible that you added to X > Custom > CSS? In this cause you need to activate X copy the CSS and add to Customizer CSS of the Theme you have active now.

Let us know how it goes

Hi @Joao

On the older version of Cornerstone, there was an option inside the “Customize” menu that gave access to Cornerstone custom CSS:

Now, on the new version, it is not there anymore. Instead, it is on Cornerstone > Options > CSS. but the CSS that was on the Customize before is not showing there.

The problem is not with the CSS from specific pages. The problem is with the CSS that before was inserted via “Customize”.

Please let me know if I could explain better now.

Cheers

For example, this other site we have, that is still on the old version, show Cornerstone CSS option inside the Customizer:

The new version doesn’t have this menu option anymore.

Hi There,

Thanks for clarifying, but the Cornerstone CSS is still there, just in a different location, please see the attached image to clarify, the CSS and JS now are on the thin left tab of the builder.

Hope it helps

Sorry, @Joao

You’re not getting my point

I now the CSS is now on the left column! The problem is not with the CSS on specific pages, is the site wide CSS that was possible to add before on the Customizer.

The Customizer now doesn’t show Cornerstone CSS anymore. It is moved to the new menu Cornerstone > Options > CSS:

But all the CSS that was before on our Customizer, isn’t being showed on the new location. It is empty, as you can see on the screenshot above.

But checking the page with Inspector, all the old CSS is still on the page code. Understand?

Thanks!

Hi again,

Sorry for the confusion, Customizer > Custom CSS is the part of the X theme, since you’re using another theme that’s why it isn’t visible. I activated X theme for testing and Custom CSS appeared (see screenshot)

If you need to have this option then consider activating the X theme.and make sure to update it to the latest version to avoid potential conflicts.

Hope this helps!

hi Nabeel.

I never used X Theme on this website, only Cornerstone plugin. and there was this option I’m mentioning.

Cornerstone plugin before the large update had an “Cornerstone” option inside Customizer, with the custom CSS there.

anyway, the point is: I need to access this CSS that was added before so I can edit it. any guesses how can I do that?

thanks

Hey there,

Okay, I checked your setup and you’ve too many plugins and most of them are outdated, that could be conflicting with Cornerstone. Please try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

Let us know how it goes!
