CSS Editor in WordPress 4.9

hi there,
now that we have a new and much more nicer css editor within wordpress, can we use it instead of the difficult one in x/pro? or is is best to make the edits in the x/pro itself? and if so, it would be nice if you could improve your css editor: make it easier to read and make selections more easy or even possible.
thanks a lot! kai

Hi There,

Thanks for writing in! We recommend to use Global CSS area under Theme Options (Appearance -> Theme Options). You can even increase the width of the editor.

Hope that helps.

hi @mldarshana, thanks a lot! but please improve that editor. especially selections are difficult to do and/or to see. even not possible from time to time. that was a long standing bug which got fixed only partially. thanks a lot! kai
ps: but i could also use the wp css editor without any problems?

@iTurtle In fact, in the left, we have a icon to open js and/or css editor. But, as you said, this editor could be better, @mldarshana, with autocomplete, better indent and more. A wide support form markdown (text areas) would be nice, tho.

@basanta thanks. but i could also use the wp css editor without any problems?

Yes, you can do that.
The Cornerstone (X or built-in Pro) you can set different rules for the same id, class and more - for different scenarios. We need to understand: - to edit using WP CSS Editor will affect the page/post/whatever entirely.

thanks a lot for clarifying! best wishes, kai

You are most welcome!
