CSS and update

Hi,

I haven’t updated to the latest v2 of pro yet but would like some advice before i do. As i have been building my site i have been dropping in some odd bits of custom CSS onto pages to align items, change the colour of things, make videos play in IE11 amongst others. Im worried that if i update Pro to the latest version (which includes the V2 elements) that i may lose all of the settings that i have put in place thus far. Will i lose anything and is there a way to not lose my css settings? I have a huge amount to do still on my website so would rather update now rather than wait until the end where i may get more issues. Also to update, do i just download the latest version from this site and upload the theme as normal and will lit overwrite the existing theme?

Hey Chris,

Thanks for writing around! If you have done customization in your Child Theme then there is nothing to worry about. If you’ve CSS customization in your Appearance > Customize > Custom > Global CSS then copy all the code and move it yo your Child Theme’s style.css file. Make sure to backup your site and DB in case if anything goes wrong.

You can update the theme automatically via Dashboard > Updates and update the theme.
