Critical WordPress error - stops when theme deactivated

Hi, I get a WordPress critical error that disappears when deactivating the theme.
I work with BlueHost.

I have reactivated the support plan for one year. Thanks for your support.

There is also an issue concerning the license, I get an error message when I put it back on WordPress. I don’t know if this might be the core issue so I add it to the list.

Hi @DigitalTrustBuilders,

Thanks for reaching out.
I have checked your website and found that the X theme is not updated and activated. I would suggest you update the X to its latest version by following the below steps and retrying the validation.

  1. Delete the existing Cornerstone
  2. Update the X theme to the latest version on automatic updates.
  3. After the X theme is updated, use the link in the dashboard to automatically install the Cornerstone. It will be the latest version.

Thanks

The X theme was up to date, but by reactivacting it crashed the website again. Please more help.

Hi @DigitalTrustBuilders,

In that case, there might be some different reasons behind your issue. I would like to suggest troubleshooting the following common issue to help us to recognize the reason.

1.Theme Related Issue
2.Plugin Conflict
3.Theme Update related issue
4.Child Theme Related issue
5.CSS/JS Customization
6.Disabling Cache
7.Disabling CDN

Dear Tristup,

Thanks for your support.
I have deactivated the theme and the critical error disappeared.
When reactivating the theme, the critical error reappeared.
Please find credentials attached. I cannot resolve this myself.
The X Theme is deactivated and the plugin Cornerstone is deleted.
Could you please log into the website and help more? Thanks very much.

Hi @DigitalTrustBuilders,

I have checked it again and found that the X theme installed is 9.1.4 whereas the latest version is 10.3.8. I would suggest you again delete the existing X theme and upload the latest version of X by downloading from your Themeco Account and installing the Cornerstone by following the steps explained in my previous reply. I have also found that you are using the PHP version 7.4.3, I would suggest you update the PHP version to 8.0. If that does not help, please provide the FTP/CPanel credentials to access the files.

Thanks

HI Tristup,

I have updated the Theme and Cornerstone according to your advice, now it works and I can activate the Theme.
Also, I have updated PhP to 8.0, thanks for the heads up about it.
Now it all works well, thank you.

Hi @DigitalTrustBuilders,

Glad that we are able to help you.

Thanks
