Critical Error – User editing – 6.1.2

When my customer tries to edit a user, a critical error appears and it is no longer possible to edit the user. However, I can add new ones.

I use ACF fields with users and Cornerstone.

When I disable all plugins the problem persists.
If I deactivate the Pro theme I can edit the users again.

We would need help quickly.

Hi Tobi,

Thanks for reaching out.
I have checked in my local environment and it worked perfectly fine with the latest version of Pro. I suspect that it might be due to an improper update of Pro, I would suggest you deactivate and delete the Pro and re-install the version by downloading from your Themeco account and check if that resolves your issue. If that does not help, please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

Hi,

i reinstalled it. But still the same.

Hi Tobi,

If that is the case, we need to investigate it through the WordPress admin dashboard. Please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

Thanks

Sorry it in my first post.

Hey,

i found the problem. i updated from php-version 7.4.x to 8.1.x
After i downgraded back to 7.4.x all works fine.

The Error-Message with 8.1.x was:
Uncaught TypeError: count(): Argument #1 ($value) must be of type Countable|array, int given in /www/htdocs/w0125098/sdnue.de/wp-admin/user-edit.php:303 Stack trace: #0 {main} thrown in /www/htdocs/w0125098/sdnue.de/wp-admin/user-edit.php on line 303

Hi Tobi,

Can you please update the Pro to its latest version i.e. 6.1.2 and let us know if you still find the problem with the latest version of PHP?

Thanks

Hey,

sorry for my late reply. We wouldn´t upgrade at the Moment because the site must be online.
I will test it in march.

Best regards
Tobi

Hi Tobi,

In that case, I would request you please copy your live site to a staging server and update the Pro* and PHP version, and if the problem persists, give us access in the secure note including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Thanks
