Creating a filterable Vimeo gallery

I have a very simple portfolio site where I’m pulling in my own Vimeo videos to display. Someone suggested to me that I add the functionality of filtering based on specific terms like, kinetic typography, visual effects, experimental, and so on.

I’ve searched here and can’t seem to find an answer. I don’t want to have to individually/manually filter all the videos. I’d like to be able to use my existing organization of videos on Vimeo to be the basis for the filtering. That way I can just upload work to Vimeo and it’ll immediately be available on my site and could be filtered properly.

Any ideas on making that happen?

I suggest that you will use the Essential Grid plugin where you can create your filters with your video gallery and Essential Grid is one of our bundled plugins. You can check here on how to create filters and more information about Essential Gird.

Thanks! I’m surprised I didn’t come across that earlier. I know it’s a third-party add-on so I don’t expect any support, but if anyone has any suggestions for making a filterable Vimeo gallery with Essential Grid beyond what’s covered on that page, I’d love to hear it. I’m sure I’m not the first person who’s want to do this sort of thing, so if anyone wants to share some do’s and don’ts I’d really appreciate it.

Actually, just to follow up. That technique doesn’t work with Vimeo videos. The filter option is not available unless you’re hosting the videos on your own site.

Any other options?

The feature that you want, It would require custom development. I would suggest you consult a developer who can assist you with your concern or you can avail our service called One, where the customization questions are answered.

Alternatively, you can search for a plugin from the WordPress plugin repository. We have not tested the plugin at our end so we can not suggest any plugins.

Please note that we don’t offer custom development and any third-party plugin support. It is out of the support scope.
