Create Archive Layout for CPT Archive

I’ve created an Archive Layout for one of my custom post type archive pages, but I can’t seem to figure out the right condition(s) to get it to display.

This is the page I’m trying to replace the layout of. It shows all my Eat, Drink, Stay custom post type posts.

Here is the condition I set:

If you want to take a closer look at my settings, I’ve added a secure not. The layout is called DIRECTORY POST TYPE ARCHIVE

Hello @santosfel5,

Thanks for writing in!

I have checked the Directories plugin that you are using and in the settings, you have assigned the Eat, Drink, Stay page, which is a normal page, as the directory index for the Eat, Drink, Stay custom post type.

It is best that you edit your DIRECTORY POST TYPE ARCHIVE and save it as a template. You will then have to go to Cornerstone > Layout Builder and create a single layout where you have to load the newly saved template. In your condition, you will use specific page and assign it to the Eat, Drink, Stay page.

Best Regards.

I did that already, but post pagination would not appear. I could only get post pagination to appear on the archive pages layout. How can you have post pagination work on a single page layout?

Hey @santosfel5,

Post Navigation element will really work only for archives. It won’t be displayed in single pages.

Because your directory plugin has its own system and it looks like Pro has no solution for it since its archive cannot be overriden and single layout won’t work because of missing pagination, you will need to override the directory plugin shortcode directly. You will need to reach out to the directory plugin developer how to achieve what you need.

Thank you for understanding.

Okay, thank you for your assistance.

You are most welcome @santosfel5
