Create additional blog options

Hello ThemeCo

Pro is a great theme and so far I have managed to create my own elements for cornerstone and also to override the default template for the blog posts, however I need to do one more thing…

I would like an additional option in ‘Pro’ > ‘Theme Options’ > ‘Blog’ to either use a particular graphic element or not. So a radio button would do the trick. (Essentially a graphic designer has put a border around the featured image that I suspect may get too busy looking with lots of images on the page, so I want to be able to just opt to use it or not).

Do you have a tutorial for doing such a thing? Can you please point me in the right direction if there is one?

Hey Vic,

Thanks for writing in and the kind words.

Unfortunately, there is no documentation to be able add options to the Theme Options and we do recommend doing so as the options available there come with the theme and adding custom options will get wiped out when you update the theme.

You might want to considering making your own settings page in the admin area but that would involved more customization which goes beyond the scope of our support.

No problems - I figured that would be the case, but thought it was worth a shot if I could keep the setting in with the other blog options.
