Create a sidebar

Hi team,
I’m very in trouble because I can not create a sidebar. I have read every thing on the forum but without result.
Tell me, step by step, how to do.

Hi There,

Thanks for writing in!

To create a custom sidebar please go to Dashboard -> appearance -> side bar.

Give an appropriate name for the sidebar and click on Add sidebar Button.

After that assign the sidebar to the page or category you want.

Then go to Appearance -> Widgets, drag and drop widgets you want to show in the sidebar.

Hi Massimo,

In order for the sidebars to show up, up will have to make sure that the Page Template that you use is not a Blank template like the homepage.

Please try the Layout - Content Left, Sidebar Right template for the pages where you want the sidebar to be visible.

Actually the sidebar is showing up on some of the page where you assigned it too like this page but it is on the bottom area because you set the main content to 100% in X > Theme Options > Layout and Design > Content Width (%). Try setting it to around 70%.
