Counter module line break issue

Hi there,

I have the following problem and would like to kindly ask for your advice.

I’m using the Counter module of X-theme and would like to enable a line
break in my text.

It works fine in the back-end view but as soon as the browser accesses
the website for real <br /> shows in the text.

Please let me know what is the best way to do it.

Hello Peter,

Thanks for writing us in! Regretfully the counter element only accepts a plain text. It may appear working in the preview. You shouldn’t be adding any html or invalid character to the filed. It might even result to an issue later on. Please do not add anything. Only use plain text.

Hello,

thanks a lot for replying instantly. I saw that the counter text was
embraced by two span tags and I was wondering whether it was possible
to replace them by pre tags.

They would allow the same global attributes but also Line breaks and
spaces. Is there a way to do that?

Hi Peter,

Changing the span tags will require editing the theme core files which not recommended.

May I know where exactly you have added <br>. I tried it on my end and it seems to work.

Hi Paul,

thanks for taking the time to explain things. However, I’m getting more and more puzzled as I don’t even seem to have the same Settings-panel.

What’s even more confusing is that in the last answer one of your colleagues stated:
You shouldn’t be adding any html or invalid character to the filed.
In your screenshot HTML characters seem to be no problem.
Is it a question of the theme’s version, then?

Please make sure that you are using V2 element and after that kindly check if Advanced Mode is turned on. To activate Advanced Mode, please take a look at following thread.

Hi Prasant,

thanks a lot for mentioning V2 elements. At first I didn’t see much of a difference between classic and V2 counter element, but now everything is working as expected.
