Cornestone stuck in skeleton mode, unable to customize theme (blank page)

This happened to a client site after the latest update to X, what could be wrong?
Any help would be highly appreciated.

Problem solved! It was an http / https error.

Hi there,

It seems that you have an incompatible version of X and Cornerstone that it why you are getting an issue.

First, kindly update X ( from version 6.1.5) )to the latest version which is 6.1.6 then also update Cornerstone (from version 3.0.4) to the latest version 3.1.6 .

Please make sure to clear your site and browser cache after updating.
