Cornerstone won't open on posts

When I try to edit a post using Cornerstone I click “cornerstone” and then when I click "edit with cornerstone it diverts me back to the visual/text editing of the page and won’t launch CS. I have tried disabling all plugins (except CS obviously) but that hasn’t helped. Any ideas?

Hey @hypnorich,

I created test post using Cornerstone and I experienced no issue (see Secure Note).

Please clear your browser cache then check again. Also test in incognito and other browsers and see if you get consistent results.

I cleared cache and opened it in ingcognito and got the exact same results I mentioned in my OP. It is encouraging that you were able to make it work. Any idea what I could do from here?

I’m a different staff and I was able to load Cornerstone and also I have tried editing the post created by @christian_y

What’s the browser and the OS that you’re using ? Try clearing your browser cache and test it again. Also it could be related to your internet connection but highly unlikely.

I am using chrome, up to date version. Deleted browser cache there. restarted laptop.Internet connection is fine. The same problem happens on Firefox as well

Actually I couldn’t replicate the problem you mentioned in the first ticket, however I did face issues while loading the modules. When I opened the page in Cornerstone, on the preview panel existing elements weren’t showing up. In chrome dev tools I saw error message stating Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'indexOf' of undefined.

To resolve the issue, here are the steps I tooks and now Cornerstone is loading fine:

  1. Because you have SSL/HTTPS activated, I checked whether or not website is configured for HTTPS. Upon confirming the configuration, I reset the permalinks structure to see if that resolves the problem.
  2. As resetting permalinks didnt helped out, I cleared the cache then deactivated and reactivated WP Super Cache (installed on the website) and that worked. I can now see Cornerstone working pretty much as it should and there is no issues while editing the posts. I have created a screencast that you can take a look. https://screencast.com/t/3XYWBAEBh4D

Can you please check at your end? Please clear browser cache to make sure that you are loading updated resources, not the cached files.

Thanks for looking into the problem and thanks for trying to fix it. I followed your instructions but the problem is still happening. It is also happening on pages as well as posts

I am another staff checking in. I did not encounter any issue at all. I edited a post and a page and it just loads without any errors.

Please temporarily deactivate Really Simple SSL and WP Super Cache plugin. And use private browser mode in testing the site.

Not sure how it got resolved but I tried everything all over again and it is now working. Sorry for all the hassle guys, I appreciate your time and effort
