Cornerstone won't load when X theme is active

Hi,

I am trying to access the page builder via Cornerstone on my website. When I try to do this, I just get the spinning circle and it doesn’t progress.

I removed the X theme and installed the basic Wordpress theme and then tried to access the page builder again, which worked…

I’m not sure what I am doing wrong but this worked for me a few days ago.

Could anyone please help me?

Tia

Hi Ben,

Thanks for reaching out.
The problem you are having might be due to the improper update of the X theme and Cornerstone plugin, I would suggest you follow the below steps to troubleshoot.

  1. Delete the Cornerstone
  2. After deletion please use the link in the dashboard to automatically install the Cornerstone.

After you update it, I would still suggest you check once by clearing all types of cache including the Style Cache from Cornerstone > Settings > System > Clear Style Cache and check in the incognito/private mode of the browser.

If that does not help, there might be some different reasons behind your issue. I would like to suggest troubleshooting the following common issue to help us to recognize the reason.

1.Theme Related Issue
2.Plugin Conflict
3.Theme Update related issue
4.CSS/JS Customization
5.Disabling Cache
6.Disabling CDN

If you discover that an issue is coming from a custom code or 3rd party plugin, kindly consult with a developer or contact the plugin author. Please note that we do not provide support for custom codes and 3rd party plugins.
If none of the above helps, please copy your live site to a staging server so we could troubleshoot freely without breaking your live site.
And give us access in the secure note including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

Hey Ben,

The issue probably has something to do with your server memory. You currently only have 256MB.

Please have your web host increase the memory. Follow the instruction here https://theme.co/docs/common-issues#increasing-php-memory-limit

Also, try upgrading PHP to version 7.4.

If none of that helps, please also provide cPanel or FTP access. Contact your web host to give you those info if you’re not familiar.

Thanks.
